Progressive Leadership for District 5
Hi, I'm Henry Fries, a UW-Madison student and candidate to represent District 5 on the Dane County Board. I hope I can earn your vote on April 7th.
Henry Fries is a lifelong Wisconsinite and a passionate advocate for local government. Now a student at UW–Madison, he brings energy and dedication to serving the people of Dane County.
In 2022, Henry ran for State Assembly to ensure young progressives had a voice in shaping Wisconsin’s future. Since then, he has focused on issues like affordable housing, clean water, equity, early childcare, and public transit.
As a member of the Dane County Board, Henry secured $18 million in new funding for affordable housing and has consistently supported environmental protection and community investment. He remains committed to representing the voices of students, families, and residents across Dane County.

Where Henry Stands
Henry believes we need affordable housing now. That is why he supported an over $25 million investment in affordable housing across Dane County.

Dane County has the finest county park system in Wisconsin and Henry has pushed to improve and expand these important lands.
​
In 2024, Henry ran on increasing flight options at the Dane County Regional Airport. Since then there have been increased flights to popular destinations, Badger game flights, and a push to get an international designation for the airport.

Students' voices are important. That is why Henry fought to increase student enfranchisement and pass resolutions calling on the State and the University to adopt common sense measure to make voting more accessible while maintaining security.

Our environment is also vital. From supporting efforts to make Dane County more sustainable to investing $1.5 million in PFAS cleanup, meaningful change is being made.
​
Henry Will continue to fight for better public transit across Dane County. This starts with fighting state laws which prevent establishing a regional transit authority and working with Madison to bring Amtrak to Dane County.
